This study aims to determine and analyze the sustainability status of elephant ginger (Zingiber officinale) farming in the peatlands of Kubu Raya Regency in terms of ecological, economic, social, infrastructure, technological, and institutional challenges that affect its sustainability, making sustainability evaluation essential for developing sustainable farming strategies. This study aimed to analyze the sustainability status of elephant ginger (Zingiber officinale) farming in the peatlands of Kubu Raya Regency based on ecological, economic, social, infrastructure and technology, and institutional dimensions, while identifying attributes that are most sensitive to sustainability. The study involved 46 respondents selected through Accidental Sampling and data were collected using in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using the Rap-Ginger (Multidimensional Scaling/MDS) approach, supported by qualitative descriptive analysis with a kite diagram. The results showed a multidimensional sustainability index of 35.35, indicating that elephant ginger farming is less sustainable. The economic and ecological dimensions were categorized as fairly sustainable, whereas the social, infrastructure and technology dimensions were less sustainable, and the institutional dimension was poor. The most sensitive attributes included post-harvest handling, harvesting, site selection, and marketing chain; seed sowing, fertilization, and planting; mutual cooperation; road access to farmland and markets; and Microfinance Institutions (MFIs). These findings provide a basis for formulating policies and strategies to improve the sustainability of elephant ginger farming on peatlands by prioritizing improvements in the most sensitive attributes across each sustainability dimension.
